  • Infectious Disease
  • Immunology
  • Drug Addiction
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Rare Diseases

Current projects involve investigations into the risk of the alcohol mixed energy drinks, the role of beta-arrestin dependent signaling in depression and anxiety disorders, the physiological function of opioid-dopamine interactions and alcohol withdrawal induced hyperalgesia.

Research: G-protein coupled receptor pharmacology of addiction and neurological disorders

Subject Areas:

  • drug addiction
  • neuroscience

Area of research:

  • Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology

I have an extensive training in drug discovery at G protein-coupled opioid receptors (GPCR) pharmacology. My independent research has primarily focused on investigating the delta opioid receptor (δOR) as a novel target for the treatment of (co-morbid) pain, alcohol use and mood disorders.
