Her primary research is on personal identity: what persons are, how they persist, and whether those facts matter. In particular, she has written on animalism, the view that we are animals. She is also interested in philosophy of biology, bioethics, and philosophy of religion.

My research sits at the intersection of biological metaphysics and ethics, especially in biomedical contexts. In particular, I’ve written on animalism, the view that we are animals, developing it in a way that is sensitive to research in biology, neuroscience, and psychology.
