Her areas of clinical interest include family medicine, diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, nutrition, anticoagulation, heart failure, and osteoporosis. Her research interests include scholarship of teaching and learning and interdisciplinary education.

Specialty Area: Ambulatory Care.

Dr. Slater's research interests include management of chronic disease states, particularly cardiovascular diseases, anticoagulation, and diabetes. Other interests include pharmacy education research. Current projects include evaluating the use of metformin and statins in diabetic patients and understanding perceptions of internal medicine physicians on clinical pharmacy.
