My laboratory focuses on functional Ca2+ signaling patterns associated with cardiovascular disease and preterm labor. We are particularly interested in elucidating the complex dynamic Ca2+ patterning along the vascular endothelium that preserves cardiovascular homeostasis and becomes disrupted with vascular injury and progressive cardiovascular disease. We also explore phasic Ca2+ signals in the uterus and apply novel approaches to overcome complications associated with dysfunctional labor and delivery.
