Her research examines the biological factors associated with the development of externalizing psychopathology, with a particular emphasis on psychopathic traits. Biological factors are assessed using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), hormone measurements, neuropsychological tests, and genotyping.

Additional areas of interest are in understanding how processes related to moral decision-making, empathy, and emotion differ in individuals with psychopathic traits.
