I am a critical digital media and information scholar who studies anthropomorphic design, virtual assistants, voice interfaces, and AI through the lenses of race, gender, and sexuality. 

I conduct critical cultural research in information and digital media studies, particularly focused aspects of race and gender in the design, use, and meaning of digital technologies.

My current project, Facing Our Computers: Identity, Interfaces, and Intimate Data, explores the linkages between identity, design, and dataveillance in AI voice assistants, digital assistants, and chatbot interfaces.
