Expertise

The research interests of Bao’s group mainly focus on rationally-designed nanostructures (e.g. nanoparticles and nanoclusters) for simultaneous imaging and therapy. Specific projects include shape-controlled magnetic nanoparticles for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), fluorescent metallic nanoprobes for fluorescent imaging, and development of nanoplatform for targeted delivery of imaging agents.

Research:

  1. Magnetic Nanoghosts as Smart Bait for Drug Screening
  2. Imaging-guided drug delivery
  3. Shape-controlled magnetic nanoparticles
  4. Fluorescent metallic nanoclusters and bifunctional nanoparticles
  5. Development of highly efficient MRI contrast agent
  6. Development of functional nanoparticle platform for neuroblastoma targeting
  7. Developmental and reproductive toxicity

Dr. Yuping Bao’s group focuses on designing novel multifunctional nanoparticles for biomedical applications, such as targeted drug delivery, bio‐imaging, and drug discovery.
