Expertise

Professor Wilmarth’s research interests focus in the area of family and consumer economics. She investigates the economic well-being of families and economic hardship, with particular attention to stress and relationship outcomes. Current work includes investigations into financial wellness and relationship satisfaction; finances and couples’ experiences of stress and satisfaction; and hardship related to food insecurity, food assistance networks, and housing security. She teaches classes in consumer decision making, public policy, and consumer protection.
