Dr. Catherine Carlson’s research focuses on the intersection of violence and mental health, and the implementation of evidence-based interventions in low-resource settings.

Dr. Carlson also leads research on mental health interventions for survivors of human trafficking, including a trauma-informed yoga intervention in Uganda and suicide prevention intervention in the Philippines. Prior research includes the IPV and HIV effectiveness research for women in sex work in Mongolia and the intersections of IPV and violence against children.
