Focus Area of Study: (Social) Relationships and Networks in Corporate Organizations and Labor Markets, Investments, Corporate Structure, and Risk-Taking Behavior
My research focuses on relationships in corporate organizations and labor markets and their effect on corporate performance. For example, one of my recent papers, which builds on the work of Duchin and Sosyura, investigates how a division manager’s social connections to the CEO affect their future labor market outcomes and the firm’s performance. Studying such relationships and effects often leads to questions about corporate structure and risk-taking behavior. Therefore, my work usually entails investigations of such as well. Earlier research of mine has focused on contemporary questions in banking, particularly community banking.
