• The fluctuation and adaptation of the aforementioned social constructs during the period of the American Civil War.
• Effects/influence of trauma on Civil War soldiers during the course of the war and veterans after the war (examining coping mechanisms, rehabilitation, reentry into civilian life, etc.).
