  • Fluvial Geomorphology
  • Erosional and Depositional Geomorphology of Rivers
  • Paleoflood Hydrology and Flood Science

I am a fluvial geomorphologist interested in human impacts and geo-social interactions involving rivers, fluvial mechanics as related to sediment processes, and how rivers interact with ecological systems. I supervise the Earth Surface Dynamics Lab at the University of Alabama (Biology Bldg., room 101), which is equipped for investigation of water quality, sediments, soils, and geomorphic field surveys.

Current projects:

  • Nutrient Retention in Rivers
  • Alluvial Benches
  • Tornado Impacts
