As a nurse-scientist with extensive experience in practice and teaching in the areas of critical care nursing, cardiovascular nursing, and evidence-based nursing practice, she has focused her program of research on primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease and cardiometabolic risk reduction, rural health disparities and geographical access and evidence-based nursing practice. She has also develop a level of expertise in the use of geographical information system (GIS).
