Current Projects

  • An expansion of earlier work into a book-length manuscript on the topic of southern expatriates in Brazil from 1866 to 1885.

Receiving his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in history from the University of Alabama, his writing and research interests include legislative, legal, and diplomatic topics in the United States and Latin America.

In addition to his work at the School of Law, Durham teaches courses in Alabama history, early United States history, and the history of Brazil in the Department of History.
