Professor Amanda B. Edgell‘s research focuses on how political institutions and social mobilization interact to influence regime outcomes. Her current interests include international norms, foreign aid, gender politics, and student mobilization. She has conducted fieldwork in D.R. Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, and Uganda.

My research broadly focuses on the politics of authoritarianism and regime transformation. I am particularly interested in how domestic institutions and actors interact with international concerns to shape the behavior of authoritarian regimes.
