Expertise

Expertise: Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and Conservation Biology

My research laboratory integrates population, community, and ecosystem-level processes across scales to understand determinants of species diversity and ecosystem properties.

Research in my lab addresses both basic and applied ecology and currently follows two main themes:

  • Patterns and processes of biological invasions across scales
  • Drivers of species and trait diversity in successional metacommunity mosaics

Our research group addresses basic and applied questions in ecology, with a focus on community ecology, spatial ecology, and invasion biology.

Research:

  • Species diversity and ecosystem properties in metacommunities
    • Invasion
    • Succession
    • Diversity and Ecosystem Function
  • Trait-based invasive species risk assessment
