My research examines how social media shapes engagement with the news, political participation, and public opinion about science issues. My teaching and research interests include political persuasion, media history, comparative media effects, and linking social media data with traditional opinion surveys. 

My research interests include political persuasion, media affordances and cognition, audience fragmentation, global populism, and attitudes about climate change. My methodological expertise includes international surveys, automated content analysis, and social media datasets.
