Expertise

Dr. Bannerman’s research and clinical interests include culturally and linguistically diverse learners in music classrooms, early childhood music, curriculum innovation, technology integration, policy and access to music education, and music teacher education.

Bannerman's primary research interests relate to sociocultural questions in music education, especially cultural diversity and gender issues. She is additionally interests in policy issues in music education. 

Current projects include historical research examining MENC's collaboration with the Inter-American Music Center in the 1940s.
