Expertise
I am interested primarily in the ecology of predation and its effects on the evolution of both predator and prey species.  The evolutionary end of my work focuses primarily on camouflage.
I am a self-taught programmer and I frequently create analysis tools to quantify color variation.  However, I have also used these skills to branch out to other projects that would benefit from automation of some component.  I am very interested in the ability of automated data collection and analysis to increase a researcher's reach and I have begun to experiment with devices like custom monitoring stations built from off-the-shelf components.
