Expertise

Uddin has carried out research on a wide variety of topics including waste biomass to energy and chemicals production, CFD studies on combined heat and power production from renewable sources, and CO2 capture and sequestration. Additionally, Uddin has several years of hands-on experience in industry, ranging from small-scale basic chemical (e.g. NaOH, HCl, bleaching powder) production plants to thousands of gallons per day of crude oil refining process plants. This blended academic and industry experience drives his research on developing engineered processes, with a specific interest in waste biomass and solar energy processes, to produce cost-competitive sustainable clean energy and carbon-based materials for small- and large-scale industrial use.
