Dr. Vallejo’s research examines the impacts of citizenship, race, class, and gender on land tenure and property ownership in South Texas. In addition to her land tenure’s specialization, her other research interest includes U.S-Mexico Borderlands, Texas History, American West, Spanish Borderlands, and Spanish paleography.
