My research efforts are directed at elucidating, molecularly and functionally, animal innate immune genes, in particular those that have antimicrobial activities and therapeutic potential.

We have focused on functional genomic studies using animal models of pigs and rats in the following two directions: (1) porcine antiviral innate immunity against porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV); (2) innate immune responses in obesity induced by high-fat diet or/and viral infection in rats.
