Matthew Adams specializes in political philosophy, ethical theory, and applied ethics. His research focuses on developing a new nonideal theory of justice.

Adams interests in philosophy are very broad, and he has also worked on topics ranging from food aesthetics to Plato’s late political philosophy, as well as some interdisciplinary collaborative research on topics such as risk assessment in sentencing.
