Dr. Jackson’s research interests are mostly related to increasing our understanding of dental caries and their clinical management. He is regularly engaged in numerous research projects; many of them in collaboration with other institutions from all over the world. Dr. Jackson also has particular interest in the impact of health literacy on oral health,the dental needs of the medically compromised and oral health products in general (e.g., dentifrices, rinses, toothbrushes, etc.) Dr. Jackson is also interested in developing and integrating new teaching methods to improve the education of dental students. In the future, he would like to facilitate the development of learning modules in oral health directed to the needs of nursing and medical students.
