Dr. Schmidt performs clinical trials and translational research directed at discovering novel biomarkers and targeted treatments of patients with pancreatic and liver neoplasia. His research is also focused on pancreatic cancer early detection. He directs the Pancreatic Cancer and Cyst Early Detection Center (PCC-EDC). The mission of the PCC-EDC is to prevent pancreatic cancer through rigorous identification, tracking and treatment of patients "at risk" for pancreatic cancer through a multidisciplinary screening clinic, registry, community outreach, education, and research discovery.
