Disciplines are the focus of my research. That is to say, I investigate: how disciplines form, mature, and interact; the myriad conceptualizations of and criteria for disciplinarity; operationalizations of disciplinarity in the scientometric literature; and the role of education, research design, and scholarly communication in the development and functioning of disciplines.
