My research interests converge at the intersection of new media, ethics, health communication, and medical sociology. I am particularly interested in the study of marginalized online communities and how their presence in digital media enables them to cope with social stigma and advocate for change. I examine these cases in a comparative design using quantitative and qualitative methods.
