My research focuses on elementary teachers as mathematics educators. I am interested in what constitutes the specific content knowledge needed to teach mathematics in elementary schools and how that knowledge can be developed in pre-service and in-service elementary teachers. I am also interested in how attitudes that elementary teachers and their students hold toward mathematics are developed.
