Expertise

I am interested in observational studies as well as lifestyle, exercise and diet modifications addressing musculoskeletal health in patients with chronic kidney disease. I have conducted a study of the role of plant diet-based intervention on mineral metabolism and musculoskeletal health in kidney disease.

My current projects are in longitudinal assessment of skeletal muscle physiology in dialysis patients to study progressive changes in musculoskeletal health in patients new to dialysis and to develop biomarkers of the muscle function decline as well as an interventional study on bone marrow fat in patients CKD. Additionally I have expertise in performing evidence reviews as a part of guideline development in CKD.
