Her current academic focus is on teaching innovation (including integration of the medical curriculum) and educational outcomes research.
Dr. Eckel is the published author of four undergraduate anatomy and physiology laboeratory manuals that are published by McGraw-Hill Education.
Her most recent interest is in developing innovative teaching materials for the Neuroscience & Behavior Course at IUSM.
