Tom’s research centers on instructional design and technology, helping school leaders, teachers, and students engage with the best available methods of instruction with digital computer technologies. In particular, he is interested in assessment practices used to measure learning outcomes and enhancing ways to evaluate and refine such practices. Recent research activities include advancing knowledge of cybersecurity principals and incident response planning for Indiana County Clerks in order to mitigate current and future cyber threats to elections. In addition, he has practical experience in education, working in both public and private secondary and post-secondary schools.
