My academic interests are high risk asthma with emphasis on the social determinants of health that contribute to it; and the intersection of food allergies, underserved populations and food deserts.

In line with her interest in research, she investigated the neuronal pathways of the taste receptor system as an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) fellow at the National Institute of Health. Her current interests are high risk asthma and food allergies in underserved populations. She likes to spend her free time exploring art museums and writing the next installments to her middle grade fiction series.
