He is a recognized authority on the application of ERCP to diseases of the pancreas and biliary tract, lecturing nationally and internationally. Dr. Sherman is at the forefront of endoscopic research in the pancreaticobiliary tree and is widely published in this area.

Research: 1) Endoscopic therapy of pancreatic and biliary tract diseases 2) Evaluation and treatment of indeterminate, benign, and malignant pancreatic duct and bile duct strictures 3) Pancreatic Cancer 4) Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction 5) Diagnosis and therapy of idiopathic pancreatitis.
