Dr. Jeffries' work is with experiential learning and innovative teaching strategies using simulations and online learning methods. She is currently the Project Director for the national simulation study funded by the National League for Nursing and the Laerdal Corporation. The study is being conducted across eight geographic sites in the United States over a three year period.

In addition to simulation, Dr. Jeffries has designed, developed, implemented, and evaluated online learning for undergraduate and graduate courses. Her scholarship of teaching focuses on learning outcomes, professional socialization in the online learning environment, best practices in teaching online, and benchmarking to national standards.
