My academic career has centered around education -- for medical stduents, residents, clinical psychology inetrns, and all of the other disciplines required in our modern mental health system. My most rewarding research has been on medical student and resident attitudes toward psychiatric disorders, those who have these illnesses, their families, and those of us who treat these conditions. Psychiatry has so much to offer -- it's fun to learn and a very rewarding field in which to work -- and I try to demonstrate this reality in all that I do.
I am currently the PI on a study of a novel, non-dopamine-blocking compound for the treatment of schizophrenia.
