Expertise

Miller’s research is focused on improving patient transitions from rehabilitation to home. Miller has completed several projects with the Roudebush VAMC and the YMCA of Madison County to better understand the issues related to successful community integration after rehabilitation. The goal of her work is to improve function and minimize complications for post-rehabilitation patients with chronic health conditions. She has found promising results through post-rehabilitation exercise programs offered through telehealth technology and in partnership with community-based entities. Specifically she has successfully implemented adapted-yoga and structured exercise programs in the community for post-rehabilitation patients.
