Expertise

CLINICAL INTERESTS:

Clinical research on alcoholism and addiction. Determination of the heritability of hormonal responses to alcohol in twins (NIH funded). Identification of physiological, endocrine, and behavioral responses to alcohol which can be used as biological markers of risk for the future development of alcoholism (NIH funded). Recent clinical research interest in developing pharmacotherapeutic approaches for treating alcoholism.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Elucidation of the neurochemical, hormonal, molecular and genetic factors that contribute to the development of alcoholism and drug abuse. Pre-clinical and clinical research programs share a common research focus, operate concurrently, and are funded extramurally.
