Bryan Orthel is an associate professor, teaching courses addressing interior design as a historically and socially contextualized profession. His interdisciplinary background and professional experience shape his interest in the breadth of problems. His scholarship focuses on the ways people understand and use history in ordinary living (historical consciousness), as well as the teaching and learning of design.
