He then completed a pediatric pulmonology fellowship at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

His research focuses on early determinants of cystic fibrosis lung disease and lung development.

My research activities are divided into 2 areas: cystic fibrosis (CF) epidemiology and the application of infant/preschool pulmonary function testing (PFTs) to the study of pediatric respiratory disease.  My CF epidemiology research has utilized the CF Foundation National Patient Registry.  Current projects include the relationship between prematurity and nutritional outcomes in CF and inconclusive diagnostic testing after a positive newborn screen.  Current research projects utilizing infant/preschool PFTs include pulmonary outcomes from the FIRST study using multiple breath washout, pulmonary follow up of the HYBRID cohort using forced oscillometry, and physiologic phenotyping of preterm infants.
