Dr. Wilkinson's research interests are primarily around adolescents and reproductive health. She is interested in examining access and ways to improve that for adolescents.

Her research was cited in the federal court case that ultimately removed age restrictions for emergency contraception nationally.

Her research focuses on examining and developing interventions to improve young people's access to reproductive health services from the perspective of a general pediatrician.
