His current research itinerary explores the pedagogy and assessment of digital information literacy in first-year general education courses (with Polly Boruff-Jones and Yan He), as well as the competing definitions of ideology and rhetoric in the scholarly literature on US Supreme Court confirmation hearings (with Chris Darr).

He teaches courses in writing, rhetoric, digital media, and technical editing.
