For her doctoral dissertation, she designed an intervention study to test the effects of Qigong exercise on the physical and psychological health of community-dwelling older adults and to explore the feasibility and acceptability of American older adults engaging in a Qigong exercise program.

Dr. Chang’s next step in research is to use the findings of her research to design future studies to evaluate the effects of Qigong exercise on health, quality of life, physical and psychological health promotion, and biomarkers related to cardiac fitness in older adults with cardiovascular disease.
