Dr. Roach passed away March 2022.

Dr. Roach's work focuses on the metabolism of glycogen and its regulation, at the structural, cellular and whole animal level. In recent years, his work has been more directed towards genetic diseases accruing from defective glycogen metabolism, notably Lafora disease, a childhood-onset fatal epilepsy and Pompe disease, which has mainly skeletal muscle and cardiac pathology.
