In collaboration with Ernie Talarico, I am involved in a project to determine the role that one of the plasma membrane Ca2+ ATPase isoforms plays in corneal wound healing. We are using siRNA to knock-down the expression of this protein in corneal epithelial cells and looking at several aspects of the wound healing process. We measure expression by looking at both mRNA and protein.
