Dr. McKenna’s clinical focus is on surgery of the esophagus and stomach using advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic techniques. This includes the treatment of hiatal hernias, gastroesophageal reflux disease, achalasia, morbid obesity, and complex reoperative surgery for failed fundoplications. His research interests include postoperative outcomes in foregut and bariatric operations, novel procedures for GERD and obesity, and natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery.
