Expertise

Dr. Sharron Crowder has held nursing positions in a variety of clinical and academic settings in the United States and abroad. Her teaching expertise is in health policy and advocacy as well as leadership. Committed to national efforts to increase nurses in leadership, Dr. Crowder uses her expertise to engage students in learning and empower nurses for leadership in policy and advocacy. She is known for her use of innovative strategies in academic settings, the development of community engaged learning opportunities, fostering legislative fellowships, and the creation of health policy academic practice partnerships. Dr. Crowder uses her previous research focus on asthma, child and adolescent health, and chronic disease management as a foundation for many of her advocacy endeavors.
