Expertise

Areas of Expertise:

  • Developmental genetics
  • Evolutionary developmental biology
  • Adult development of appendages in insects
  • Gene expression

My interests are in the evolutionary histories that have led to animal diversity. My research and courses explore how development and genetics intersect with morphological evolution.

My lab is currently studying the development and evolution of alternative wing morphs in the red shouldered soapberry bug (Jadera haematoloma).
