Subject Area:

  • Philantropy and Non-profit Studies.

My research interests focus on how philanthropic and associational action can shape and influence societal transformations. I am particularly interested in the ways private actors exercise an influence in public life through associational and philanthropic vehicles in times of political, cultural, and economic crises.

My research focuses on how individuals participate in public affairs through voluntary organizations and philanthropic practices, both nationally and internationally.

My research relies on historical methods to better understand today’s philanthropic practices and enhance the efficiency and impact of organized philanthropy.

My Projects:

  • Building Civil society and Philanthropic Foundations
  • Institutionalizing Nonprofit Studies
  • Philanthropy, Space, and Trauma-Informed Care
  • Global Development Solutions.
