An evolving writer of fiction, his interests in that and his other area, 19th Century British Literature, involve how memory intersects with landscape, particularly in childhood but also with adults involuntarily displaced from their native place. He is also interested in the concept of death and its many psychological and sociological implications in contemporary writing and literature of the long 19th century.
