Expertise

Edgemon’s research examines the links between criminal justice contact and health disparities and also how macro-level structures can influence health outcomes at both the individual and population levels. In addition, he also does work examining how human trafficking-related violence affects the health of survivors. His current research projects include work that focus on human trafficking victimization and labor exploitation in Sub-Saharan Africa, how prison-level structures influence the mental health of incarcerated women, and how incarceration rates influence population-level mental health over time.
